Chile

Chile extends down the west coast of South America approximately 4,000km, but averages a measly 150km in width. Mountains covers about 80% of the land and thus this largely urbanised country is an adventurers paradise.

For a real varied South America visit, try Chile. Bordering Argentina, Bolivia and Peru, this long thin country stretches from the arid Atacama Desert in the north to the spectacular glaciers of Patagonia in the south. Between them lies a myriad of volcanos, vineyards, city excitement, forests, rivers and lakes.

A marvellous country for experiencing the outdoors, Chile offers up-and-coming winter sports resorts and, save for the international flight, exceptionally good value for money for a ski break. The climbing and hiking opportunities in Chile are second to none, and the range such that there is something for everyone from extreme high altitude mountaineering to rock climbing on the Pacific coast.

A country of pure natural beauty and culture, let’s not forget Easter Island that lies 3760kms across the Pacific. A five and a half hour flight from Santiago, and one of the most remote islands in the world, head here to step back into an ancient world, marvel at the monolithic stones and unravel the mystery of Rapa Nui.
