Tour beautiful Washington and Oregon

This comprehensive 16-day trip gives you the perfect opportunity to explore Washington and Oregon State in all their glory. We have provided you with a self-driving itinerary but included at least two nights at each stop. This means you'll have plenty of time to explore this stunning region by foot as well as from behind the wheel. As with all itineraries within these pages, they are just an example of what we can do. Please do not hesitate to contact us if you would like to discuss further options and alternatives.

Day 1
Depart the UK from your chosen airport. Upon arrival into Seattle, collect your rental car and proceed to the Hotel Monaco, where you will stay for three nights.

Days 2 & 3
Seattle is a beautiful city with so much to offer visitors. We recommend Pike Place Market and taking a trip up the famous Space Needle for some incredible views. Home to many coffee chains, it's a great people-watching city and the historic old town district is certainly worth a visit with some fantastic restaurants with superb fresh seafood.

Days 4 & 5
From Seattle, you'll head south and west towards Kalaloch. You'll pass through world famous Olympic National Park with its dramatic snow-covered mountains, lush rainforests and rugged Pacific coastline. Travelling through quaint fishing villages, you'll find plenty of places to stop en route before arriving at Kalaloch Lodge where you will stay for two nights.

Days 6 & 7
Today you head south on Route 101 passing the region where Quinault Indians have resided for centuries. The scenery continues to astonish and you'll have no trouble finding a picture-perfect picnic spot for lunch! Towards the end of the day, you'll cross the Columbia River and enter Oregon State before your final drive to Cannon Beach. You will spend two nights at The Ocean Lodge.

Days 8 & 9
As today is a shorter drive to the town of Welches (on the edge of Mount Hook National Park) we recommend taking a detour to visit Mount St Helens. On your free day in Welches, you can be as active or relaxed as you please. Simply soaking in the fresh air is enough for many, but there are also endless opportunities to stretch your legs by foot or bike, and the Columbia River Gorge is a majestic sight.

Days 10 & 11
You continue to follow the Columbia River today, heading back into Washington. Your destination is the Suncadia Resort in Cle Elum, just north of Mount Rainier National Park.

Days 12 & 13
The vistas just keep getting better as you proceed towards North Cascades National Park. The sheer space here is difficult to comprehend - it's easy to see why this wilderness teems with wildlife. You will stay in Metthow Valley at Sun Mountain Lodge for another two nights, giving you a free day to explore the area at leisure.

Days 14 & 15
Your final drive takes you through the heart of the North Cascades National Park, home to jagged peaks, deep valleys and more than 300 glaciers. Tulalip is a coastal town about 30 miles north of Seattle, where you will spend your final two nights at the Tulalip Resort and Casino.

Day 16
All good things must come to an end and unfortunately today is the day you leave for home. After the short drive to Seattle, you'll drop the car and check in for your flight to the UK.
