Rocky mountaineer train journey

This trip has been designed for you to experience the iconic Rocky Mountaineer train and the scenic Rocky Mountains.

Day 1

You will board your Air Canada flight from London Heathrow at 1430 for the nine and a half hour flight to Vancouver. We have reserved Premium Econonmy seats for extra comfort in a dedicated part of the aircraft. Extra benefits include a larger seat, premium meal service, recline and extra legroom, enhanced amenities and priority airport service including extra baggage allowance. So kick back, relax and enjoy the journey!

Arrival in Vancouver is scheduled for 1630 and after clearing customs and immigration a driver will meet you and take you to your hotel for the first night of your exciting Canadian holiday. There will enough time to explore the city and enjoy an evening meal.

Day 2

After breakfast you will be transferred to the rail station to join the famous Rocky Mountaineer Train. You will sit in the Gold Leaf Service for your journey to the heart of British Columbia. On today's journey, the scenery will change dramatically from lush green fields through forests, past winding river canyons to the dessert-like environment of the BC interior.

Highlights include the rushing waters of Hell’s Gate in the Fraser Canyon and the steep slopes and rock sheds along the Thompson River. The day concludes as the Rocky Mountaineer travels along the shores of Kamloops Lake into Kamloops where you overnight at the selected hotel.

Day 3

After breakfast your journey continues eastwards to the mighty Canadian Rockies and the province of Alberta. Once again you will see spectacular scenery as the train travels across ranch lands, rocky lakeshore, over high mountain passes and through the remarkable tunnels that form part of the rich history of the Canadian Rockies.

Todays highlights include Craigellachie, where the last spike of the Canadian Pacific Railway was driven, the climb over Rogers Pass, Kicking Horse Canyon, the Spiral Tunnels and of course, the glaciers and snow capped peaks of the Rockies. Your journey ends tonight in the resort town of Banff.

Day 4

After breakfast, we have arranged a sightseeing tour of Banff and Jasper National Parks via Lake Louise and the Icefields Parkway. The highlights include Bow Lake, the Colombia Icefield and Athabasca Falls. Time will be made available for lunch at your own expense and arrive in Jasper late afternoon for your overnight hotel.

Day 5

Today you'll join the Rock Mountaineer to travel from Jasper to Kamloops, in the heart of Briish Colombia Interior. As you travel west and south you will be surrounded by the dramatic scenery of the Continental Divide and the river valleys of the Monashee and Caribou Mountains.

Todays highlights include Mount Robson, Pyramid Falls, the climb over Yellowed Pass and the journey along the North Thompson River as you approach Kamloops for your overnight hotel.

Day 6

After breakfast, you'll continue towards the Pacific Ocean and Vancouver, where your rail journey ends in the evening. We have arranged a lovely hotel for you this evening, your last before flying home tomorrow.

Day 7

You'll have time this morning in Vancouver as we have pre-booked your transfer to the airport at 3pm for your overnight flight to London Heathrow.
