Botswana

Botswana, in our opinion, is all about diversity.  When it comes to varied landscapes, environments and fauna, the range within this one country is astounding.  They vary from the hot, wet Okavango Delta home to a multitude of bird life and big game to, a 5 hour drive away, the dry and occasionally freezing, baron Makgadikgadi Salt Pans home to meerkat, brown hyena and aardwolf.

The Okavango Delta is the greatest attraction in Bostwana.  Explore by mokoro – traditional dugout canoe – helicopter, boat or vehicle on any one of the large islands – and you’re sure to come across a depth of wildlife unmatched in such a wilderness.

The Chobe region of north east Botswana is popular due to its reliable resident game and well known sites for spectacular viewing - there are more than 30,000 elephants in Chobe.  Close to the convergence of 4 countries – Namibia, Zambia, Zimbabwe and Botswana - the Chobe Riverfront is a beautiful part of the country well worth a visit.  West of Chobe is Linyanti: a private reserve with only a couple of select camps specifically chosen to enjoy this large area.  Vast marshes extend north to Namibia’s Caprivi Strip but, to the south is dry, baron woodland. With such different ecosystems in such close proximity of each other, there exists fascinating wildlife interaction between species that wouldn’t normally mix.

A complete contrast to Chobe and the Delta, the Central Kalahari Game Reserve and the Makgadikgadi Salt Pans are home to more unique species. The vast wilderness of both regions grab and hold visitors' attention.
